Client is getting installed but it is not able to locate/assigned to site.

Q. After installation of client machine is not able to get the Site code for the installed client?

Solution :

1. Please check the Boundry configuration and make sure that client all 72 clients fall under the boundry specified.

2. if you have selected this option while client deployment (DO NOT Selects the Include only clients assigned to this site check box option). then it means that boundry was not configured properly.

3. If you find that clients IP dosen't fall under the specified boundry then, add the IP boundry in which client fall.

4. Now go to collection in the console > right click on collection where problem exist > All Task > Update collection membership (also check mark the option Include subcollection) and after 2 mins right click adn refresh the collection.

5.If the client does not belong to an Active Directory environment or cannot contact Active Directory, it determines a server locator point for its site code by asking WINS for the server locator point published by the SMS administrator

6. Check locationservice.log and Clientlocation.log to check wheather client has got it assigned site and MP or not ?
